Adobe Introduces New Microsoft HoloLens And Amazon Alexa Integrations

At its big Summit conference, Adobe has gone on to introduce several new technologies; including tie-ins with Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality headset as well as Amazon’s digital assistant Alexa.

Several of the new innovations are backed by the company’s artificial intelligence and machine learning platform Adobe Sensei along with the company’s catalog of cloud offerings.

Virtual Reality is now a big part of Adobe’s latest projects. In the advertising sphere, Adobe has envisioned a situation, where someone would be standing in the middle of the Times Square in New York City, with a VR headset on. Based on this individual, various Adobe products such as Adobe Experience Cloud and Sensei would come together, so as to virtually replace the iconic billboards in the neighborhood with advertisements which might go on to speak to that person.

The HoloLens project visualizes data, and layers it on top of the real world. Let us take an example of a retailer who would go on to use the technology so as to visualize sales data, so the person wearing the HoloLens would be able to view how various items are doing and decide to emphasize on the one which is more popular in the store. In addition to this, the retailers would be able to place sensors on items, and will be able to see which products are generating most foot traffic.

Adobe desires to personalize Amazon’s digital brain Alexa. Alexa is currently open to third party developers and Adobe wants to tie in its Experience Cloud so as to make it possible for consumers to ask Alexa for their rewards status for airline or hotel chain, for example.

Alexa would then go on to use their customer profile data as well as preference so as to recommend promotions or activities which will go on to take advantage of those rewards. The company goes on to state that it will be able to do this in such a way that it will protects people’s privacy.

The video given below will give you an idea of how Adobe and Microsoft are working together on virtual reality and retail.
