With AMP Integration in Google Search, Google rolls out a change. With this change, the users can view and copy as well as share the publisher’s own link to the required webpage, against the AMP URL. It is anticipated that Google took this step because publishers thought that on the pretext of mobile optimization, Google used to steal their traffic.
Google AMP is a method to augment web browsing, especially on mobile devices, through optimized versions of publisher’s sites.
It is Google’s robust system that allows Google AMP's URLs to redirect back to publishers when they are shared outside of Google. It is Google’s change that allows the surfacing of direct URLs as a Google URL is being shown in the URL field of a Browser. If you call the anchor button, the publisher’s direct URL will appear, which allows it to be easily copied and pasted. Google further says that if an anchor tag is made to hold, the native share feature of the browser being used is triggered. Easy access to Facebook and Twitter is possible for Safari users.
If you want to know how AMP is displayed, the overflow icon is there to provide helpfu information. Native sharing is already enabled for Google’s search app on iOS and there is reason to rejoice for Android users as well, as they will get URL sharing soon. In order to enable AMP header sharing directly, Google is planning to use Web Share API.
