Google Launches ‘Android Excellence’ On Play Store

Google has launched “Android Excellence” feature to Play Store that is basically a collection of Android apps and games offering high quality user experience. The apps in this collection are hand-picked by the Editors, and this feature will be available in Editors' Choice section of the Play Store.

In the official blog, the company states,

“Striving to deliver amazing experiences for an ever-growing diverse user base, we've seen a significant increase in the level of polish and quality of apps and games on Google Play. As part of our efforts to recognize this content on the Play Store, today we're launching Android Excellence. The new collections will showcase apps and games that deliver incredible user experiences on Android, use many of our best practices, and have great design, technical performance, localization, and device optimization.”

The “Android Excellence” collection offers two categories – Apps and Games, and is functional now on Google Play Store under Editors’ Choice section. Google has told that the collections will be refreshed on quarterly basis, and announced the first group of Android Excellence awardees.

Providing high-quality user experience has been a trend and the top priority of companies now-a-days, in order to beat the competition of earning more and more brand-loyal users. Recently, at WWDC, Apple announced a totally revamped App Store and now Google is showing its concern about the quality and user experience at Play Store.

Well, this step of Google is worth-praising, as it will motivate the developers to improve the quality of the applications they publish on the Play Store, and will help users find the best quality applications without wasting a lot of time in trying many apps.
