Google has started releasing the developer preview of
Android 7.1.2 Nougat, an update to its latest Android version. This version will soon be available for everyone in a few weeks.
However, this new update will not be available for all Android devices; even the latest developer preview is not available to all the devices. If you are using Google Pixel or Pixel XL, Google Pixel C, Google Nexus Player, or LG-made Nexus 5X, you will be able to install the latest update through Android Beta Program.
“Android 7.1.2 is an incremental maintenance release focused on refinements, so it includes a number of bugfixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users."
However, you can easily go on to try the public beta for Android 7.1.2, through the Android Beta Program. If you own an eligible device, then your device will gain a public beta update within the next few days. However, if your device is not enrolled, all you need to do is visit android.com/beta and opt-in your eligible Android tablet or phone, and you will soon be able to receive the public beta update over the air. You can also go on to download and update it manually.
