Google's Gboard Now Integrated Into iOS Google Search App

Google has currently gone on to inform that its previous standalone keyboard app Gboard is now being bundled with its main iOS Search app. This change has been announced along with some new features which include support for an array of 3D Touch options as well as a new Google Search widget.

The Gboard had been launched last year, at the height of users’ interest in third-party keyboard for their iPhone. The main aim with Google-branded keyboard app is to bring users closer to search and other services of Google – especially as users are spending more time in social networking and private messaging app and not on the mobile web.

The Gboard app offers users variety of tools which has been aimed at enhancing the mobile messaging, which goes on to include the ability to search for emoji instead of scrolling, built-in GIF search, support for glide typing along with voice transcription. It also comes with the ability to search Google, and quickly sends information, such as news, video, weather forecast, and many more.

Google goes on to inform that its search app goes on to include Gboard as part of the download. The option for enabling Gboard is available in settings of the Google app.

The Search app update also goes on to include the new “Trending on Google” widget, which can easily go on to be displayed in the iOS notification center, and this will go on to feature breaking news and other trending topics based on the live search across Google. When you tap on an item, you will be able to launch the Google app, hence allowing you to read some more.

To access the widget, use 3D Touch on the app icon or swipe right on your home screen. To install it, swipe right on your home screen, scroll to the bottom, tap “Edit”, then add “Trending on Google.”

3D Touch through the app has also been integrated. When you view the web pages or search results and want to find out more, all you need to do is press the G button available at the bottom of the page so as to instantly start a new search. You can also press on the Search results; Map results, and cards in your feed so as to see a preview of the content before opening it.

These features are now available in the new version of the Google Search app for iOS.
