Instagram now allows you to create Messenger Rooms via the Instagram Direct page in the app. Messenger Rooms allows up to 50 people to group video chat even if they don’t have a Facebook account.

You will need to head over to your Instagram direct messages and tap the video call icon on the top right corner, then select the "Create a Room" button. You can now send the invitations for the room to your friends on Instagram.
If you want to join a video call on Messenger Rooms, tap on "Join Room" , confirm when asked if you want to open the room in the Messenger app.
