Lyft, a San Francisco, California-based car sharing company is moving out of its core business to stay in the race of innovation and technology by announcing an open platform that other car manufacturers can use. It will open a door to other taxi and cab companies to use a similar technology to what Lyft and Uber are using for its drivers and customers.
Lyft’s open platform documentation claims that "the platform is the most efficient way to bring your autonomous technology to market. With Lyft’s open platform, the world's best car manufacturers and self-driving systems can plug into our network of nearly one million rides per day. Access to a diverse set of real-life scenarios helps partners develop their systems around actual experiences and behaviors. Smart dispatching ensures the right vehicle is always dispatched for the right routes and conditions."
