Microsoft Announces Updates To OneNote Class Notebook, Learning Tools, And Office Lens

Microsoft announces new updates for OneNote Class Notebook, Learning Tools, and Office Lens. These improvements include the following as per the official blog:
  • The availability of Class Notebook Tools on more platforms.
  • Updates for Learning Tools for OneNote—new languages and more.
  • The ability for teachers to give stickers to students in their Class Notebooks.
  • New embeddable content types from partners.
  • Updates for the OneNote Class Notebook and LMS.
  • The availability of Office Lens for iPad, including Learning Tools.
Class Notebook Tools
 
Microsoft announces the availability of OneNote Class Notebook Tools for OneNote Online and OneNote Windows 10. The company believes that it will help teachers work more efficiently across platforms.
 
With the help of Class Notebook Tools for OneNote Online and OneNote Windows 10, you can do the following.
  • Distribute a page or section to your students.
  • Review students' work.

OneNote Online is now available to Office 365 Education customers, and update for One Note for Windows 10 will soon be available.
 
Learning Tools update
 
Microsoft launches Learning Tools across new apps and platforms, which includes Word desktop, Word Online, OneNote Online, and Office Lens for the iPhone. Learning Tools comes with two new improvements, as given.
  • The Learning Tools user interface is now localized in six new languages: Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).
  • Support for three new dictation languages - Russian, Portuguese (Brazil), and Chinese.

Stickers are now available in OneNote Online app, and it will soon be available on OneNote Class Notebook add-in for desktop (2013 or 2016) and Windows 10 app.

The following updates to OneNote Class Notebook have been announced.
  • Read/Unread support for page distributions and assignments in the Class Notebook add-in for OneNote.
  • New LMS's supported in the Class Notebook add-in for OneNote.
Office Lens now available for iPad
 
Microsoft announces the availability of Office Lens for iPad. It is being shipped together with an improved version of Office Lens for iPhone, and both the apps come with Learning Tools which are built right in. You can now scan documents as well as whiteboards with your iPhone and iPad camera.

Along with the Office Lens for iPad, Immersive Reader has also been launched, which will allow you to hear the text from the printed page. The words will be highlighted and they are read, making them accessible to all users.
 
Office Lens is now available in the iPad Store.
