At a first glance, the new Surface Pro looks like Surface Pro 4 but the company says that there are about 800 new custom parts in this Microsoft’s new tablet / laptop hybrid. Also, this is thinner and lighter than the previous devices.

If we talk about specifications, Surface Pro is equipped with new Intel seventh-generation Kaby Lake processor. The device offers a fan-less design on the Core m3 and Core i5 models. However, the top model with Intel Corei7 processor will still have fan. Microsoft has announced that they will also offer a model with LTE connectivity, that will support micro SIM and eSIM. This is obvious that the LTE version will cost a little higher, however, the company has not revealed the exact price for that.

Equipped with a touchscreen display, Surface Pro can be attached with a keyboard accessory that is sold separately. The shrunken perimeter vent and a bit rounded corners make it look cool when used as a tablet. Also, you can lay it nearly flat with the new better and strong hinge design that is capable of bending the device by an angle up to 165 degrees. Interestingly, the battery life of Surface Pro is more than 13.5 hours, almost double to that of its predecessor.

According to Microsoft's Surface chief, Panos Panay,

“This isn’t just a processor change. We did take Kaby Lake, it’s the latest generation, of course. But it’s the integrated SSD on the motherboard. It’s the fundamental architecture changes that we do in Windows and Surface. It brings 13.5 hours of battery. It’s lighter than the previous generation product, and it’s more powerful with no fan.”
