Snap Spectacles Now Available Online In U.S For $130

Snap is taking a step forward in proving to its investors that the upcoming IPO ‘Spectacles’ can easily earn money for its business, and is not just a brand stunt. Hence, now Snap has started selling its latest video-recording sunglasses Spectacles online in U.S, at the price of $129.99. It was only dispensed from Snapbot vending machines in surprise locations, along with its NYC pop-up store for the last three months.

Snap has closed the pop-up, and statess that Snapbots will go on to continue landing in surprising locations around the U.S. The buyers will need to wait from two to six weeks for their Spectacles to be shipped, and each household has been limited to 6 pairs. People will now also be able to buy a charging case for $49.99 and $9.99 for the charging cords from Snap, and it is no longer available on Amazon.
 
The Spectacles are available in three different colors – Black, Blue, and Pink.

In an interview with WSJ, Evan explained the reason for the expansion of Spectacles beyond its buzzy limited release strategy. He states,
 
“When we launched, the idea was : ‘We’re going to take a slow approach to rolling them out,’ says Spiegel. ‘It’s about us figuring out if it fits into people’s lives and seeing how they like it.’ Response has been positive since November’s launch so we’re now happy to be able to make Spectacles more readily available — especially for those in the US who have not been able to make it to a Snapbot.”
