Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai is appointed to Board of Directors of its parent company Alphabet. Pichai has joined Alphabet’s Board of Directors from July 19, 2017 and has become the fifth insider in a board of 13 directors, after founders duo Larry Page and Sergey Brin; Exec. Chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt; and Cloud Computing division head Diane Greene.
In a
press release, Google’s co-founder and Alphabet CEO, Larry Page stated,
“Sundar has been doing a great job as Google’s CEO, driving strong growth, partnerships, and tremendous product innovation. I really enjoy working with him and I’m excited that he is joining the Alphabet board.”
Pichai joined Google in 2004 and got chance to mentor his skills under the leadership of the founding members of company, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. After he was appointed the CEO of Google in 2015, he doubled down the company’s efforts towards integrating artificial intelligence in consumer and enterprise services. As a result, Google got a rapid and sustained growth in this short span of time.
Now, it will be interesting to see where the company directs after adding him to its board. Well! We hope this appointment proves to be very fruitful in the course of time.
