WeWork, a co-working space owner, will acquire Meetup, an online community platform for events, as reported in a news via Crunchbase’s news.
Founded in 2010, WeWork is a New York City based company that is valued at $20 billion. WeWork has more than 20,000 employees in 23 US cities and 21 countries.
WeWork was designed for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and startups to rent smaller offices and seats and share common space but recently, small to large businesses have started using it as remote offices.
Meetup.com is an online platform for individuals and businesses to create events and share, promote, and host event details. According to Crunchbase, Meetup has 35 million members and over 300,000 “IRL” community meetups to date.
