Using Global and Action Data Sheets in Actions in QTP in Testing

We can specify whether we store the data obtained during output of a value to the Data Table or add a Data Table parameter to the test, in the Global data sheet or in the action data sheet.

Global Sheet

Using a Global Sheet we can select an existing column or create a new column in the Global sheet in the Data Table. When we run the test, QuickTest inserts a value from or to the current row of the Global data sheet. We can use a Global data sheet for Data Table parameters or for Data Table output values in any action. Hence we can information between actions.

Current action sheet (local)

Every action has its own sheet in the Data Table so that we can insert the data which applies only in that action.



Through a Current Action sheet we can select an existing column or we can create a new column in the that particular action sheet in the Data Table. During running the test, QuickTest outputs a value from or to the current action data sheet during each action iteration.
