Automatically Updates Drivers in Windows 8

Introduction

This article explains how to enable or disable Windows from downloading device drivers automatically in Windows 8. In the previous versions of Windows operating system, such as Windows NT and Windows XP did not support this feature. It is most required of any operating system to get and updates drivers from the internet automatically in a fixed duration of time. This feature also reduces the headache of the user when searching the drivers from the internet manually and there is no need to use a CD and DVD for this to work. The continuous update of drivers is necessary for a properly working computer system. By default Windows automatically updates drivers for many devices such as Printers, Keyboards etc.

Steps How to Enable or Disable Windows to Download Device Drivers Automatically in Windows 8

Step 1 : In the Windows 8 OS, you can move the cursor on the right bottom and click on the search box. In the search box, you can specify what you want.

Step 2 : In the search box, you can type the name Control Panel and click on the Control Panel.

Step 3 : After opening the Control Panel, you will see many programs such as System and Security, Network and Internet, Hardware and Sound, programs and others. You click the "Ease of Access".

Step 4 : The Ease of Access Window will be appear, you click on "Ease of Access Center".

Step 5 : The Ease of Access Center window will be opened; you click on the "Change Logon Settings". It is shown in the figure below.

Step 6 : In this step, you click on the "Create a Restore point for Backup".

Step 7 : In this step System Properties Window will be open. You click on the "Device Installation Settings" under Hardware Tab.

Step 8 : In this step, It show Two option. By default the Driver Updates is enable. You can click on second option then a list of option will be displayed. You can choose it what you want. You can Disable or choose best one option which suit your hardware device requirement.
