Change Screen Refresh Rate in Windows 8

Introduction

This article explains how to adjust the Screen Refresh Rate on your PC. If you want to set a Refresh Rate higher then that is possible depending on the capacity on the Graphic card and monitor. If your System Refresh Rate is slow, images are seen as fluctuating to the user eyes and the user is not comfortable. Now days, new monitors have a 60 Hz Refresh Rate that gives you the option to change the Refresh Rate up to 70 Hz, if your monitor is compatible.

A high performance monitor can set the Refresh Rate to 120 Hz. If your Monitor Rate is higher, your display is better and very comfortable. If you want to change the Refresh Rate then do that in the Control Panel. Windows selects the best display settings such as Screen Resolution, Refresh Rate and Color.

You open the Control Panel and select the "Adjust Screen Resolution" under the "Appearance and Personalization" and click on it. A window will open; click on "Advanced Settings" and then A window will open; click on the Monitor tab and you can select the Screen Refresh Rate to whatever you want in the drop down list and then click on the Apply Button or Ok Button.
