Disable the Screen Saver Time Out in Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we are explaining how to disable the Screen Saver Time Out in Windows 8. If you set it to zero then the Screen Saver will not be started. If you set the setting to "Disabled" or "Not Configured" then the Screen Saver will not be started. Windows 8 provides the Screen Saver Timeout.

This setting has no effect under any of the following circumstances:

  • If this settings is Disabled or Not Configured.

  • If the wait time is set to zero.

How to Disable the Screen Saver Time Out in Windows 8

Step 1

Move the cursor on the bottom-right and select the search box and enter into the search box what you want.

Step 2

In the search box you enter the gpedit.msc under the application tab and click on the window that is shown.

Step 3

In the window that is shown, you will see the "Local Group Policy Editor" window.

Step 4

In this step I want to set the Screen Saver Timeout. Click on the User Configuration sub-category Administrative Template sub-category Control Panel sub-category Personalization and click on the "Screen Saver Timeout".

Step 5

In this step right-click on the "Screen Saver Timeout" and select the edit tab and click on the edit tab.

Step 6

In this step, if you click on the "Disabled" or "Not Configured" then the Screen Saver will not be started.
