Restore System Files and Settings in Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we are explaining how to restore system files and settings in Windows 8. If a user changes the system then System Restore can restore System Files. The System Restore does not affect personal files, documents and others. System Restore can help fix problems that might be making your system run slowly.

Windows 8 provides the System Restore. System Restore helps you restore your computer system files. System Restore is a component for Windows which allows restoration of system files, registry settings and applications to a previous state. Sometimes you installed programs or drivers but your system behaves abnormally. You can try restoring your computers to an earlier date with the help of System Restore.

System Restore can not help you recover your personal files. System Restore can use the system image backups and these system image backups are stored on the hard disk just like a restore point is generated by System Protection. A System Restore can not be undone until after it has completed.

Steps How to Restore System Files and Settings in Windows 8

Step 1 : You can move the cursor on the bottom-right and click on the search box and type in it what you want.

Step 2 : In the search box, you can type the name "Control Panel" and click on the Control Panel.

Step 3 : In the Control Panel, you click the drop-down menu arrow in the category tab and select the "Large Icons". In this step you click on System.

Step 4 : In this step, you click on the "System Protection" in the left pane of Window.

Step 5 : In this step, you click on the "System Restore" Button under System Restore.

Step 6 : In this step you click on the "Next" Button.

Step 7 : In this step, you can choose the different Restore Point whatever you want and then click on the "Next" Button. If there is not a Restore Point then you click on the Next Button.

Step 8 : In this step, you can see programs and drivers that will be affected, you click on "Scan for affected programs". After reviewng the Restore Point, click on the "Finish" Button.

Step 9 : If a warning message is showing then click on the "Yes" Button to continue the System Restore.
