Change Start Screen Background in Windows 8

Introduction

The Metro Start Screen is the best feature of Windows 8. It is may come as a surprise that the Start Screen customization options are not as extensive as those for the Desktop.  There are, for instance, only 20 designs that you can select for the Start Screen background. The color scheme too is limited to 25 different pre-configured schemes, while you are not limited to fixed color schemes on the Desktop.

How to change the Start Screen background image.

Step 1

Download "Decro8" and double-click on it to install it.

Step 2

After installation, launch it from the Start Screen. The first time it executes it will ask if you want to purchase it. Click on "Continue 30 days trail".

Step 3

In this step select the background style that you want set on the Start Screen. The Style preview will be shown on the top. Press the "Win" key to show the preview of the Start Screen.

Step 4

If you want to set your custom image on the Start Screen background then click on "Select folder" or "Select file" and select the file or folder that you want to set on the Start Screen background.

Step 5

Now exit from Decro8 and go to the Start Screen.
