Disable Toaster Notification In Windows 8

Introduction

In this article we are going to explain how to disable toaster notification in Windows 8. In Windows 8 the toaster notification is a nice addition, we may wish to disable them temporarily and however they can be annoying at times, or maybe even permanently, here's how.

How to disable toaster notification in Windows 8.

Step 1

First of all we have to move to the Start screen window of Windows 8.

 

Step 2

Then move the cursor on the bottom-right of the window screen and click the settings box.

 

Step 3

At the bottom of the sidebar, you will see the Notifications Icon.

 

Step 4

Simply click on it to disable all application notifications.

 

Step 5

The problem with this is it disables all notifications, even those on our lock screen. However, we can change this, click on the more PC setting link. This will open the Metro control panel.

 

Step 6

We will notice how everything is turned off, the first thing we need to do is re-enable notifications.

 

Step 7

Now if we want to turn off the Toaster Notifications for a certain application just toggle that application's setting, I tested this with the messenger application.

That's all there is to it, now we will still have Toaster Notifications for all the other apps and the notifications on our lock screen will still work.
