Introduction
In this article we explain how to make Windows 8 boot straight to the Desktop. When Windows 8 boots, we can skip past Metro during a manual boot.
How to directly boot to Windows 8
Step 1
First we must move to the Windows 8 Metro start screen and then click the "Desktop" tile.
Step 2
After that we sign into Windows, and hold the Enter key after typing in our password.
Note: Don't click the arrow or use the tab to select the arrow. Just type in the password and then hold the Enter button.
Step 3
Holding Enter during boot is a trick that will tell Windows 8 to launch the first tile/app from the Metro UI and skip the Metro UI altogether.
Step 4
Windows will boot straight into Desktop mode. Since the Desktop is the first tile, we can also use the Enter button after booting up to launch straight into the Desktop without the need for mouse clicks.
