Pin Favorite Websites to the Windows 8 Start Screen

Introduction

In this article we are going to explain how to pin our favorite website to the Metro Start screen in Windows 8. Windows 8 provides many new features, such as a Charms bar and the Metro Start screen The Metro Start screen provides easy access to a Metro application. If we want to add a file, folder or our favorite web sites then we can easily add them to the Start Screen and then they are easy to use.

How to pin our favorite websites to the Metro Start screen in Windows 8.

Step 1

First of all we have to move to the Start screen window of Windows 8.

Step 2

Then we open Internet Explorer 10 from the Metro Start screen and navigate to a website you want to pin.

Step 3

Type in the website URL and click on go.

Step 4

Click the Pin to Start button on the right side of the bar at the bottom in the IE window.

Step 5

Then we enter the URL in a pin to the start box and hit Enter.

Step 6

Open the Start Screen and the website name will be shown in the Start Screen.

Step 7

To remove a pinned website from the Metro Start screen, right-click on the tile and click the Unpin from Start button on the left side of the bar that displays at the bottom of the screen.
