Jump Lists Comes With Better Privacy Options In Windows 8

Jump Lists are accessed by right-clicking on a pinned application in the taskbar. This feature first appeared with Windows 7. Generally you cannot control all the items shown in the Jump List. But windows 8 has a feature that provides better privacy control; you can choose to prevent Windows from showing opened items in the Jump List.

The Start Menu tab has been replaced with the Jump List tab in the taskbar properties. The classic Start Menu has been replaced with the new Metro UI based Start Menu. Find the privacy option "Store and display recently opened items in Jump Lists" under the taskbar property window. Uncheck the option so that currently opened items are not saved.

Step 1: First of all start the Windows 8 desktop.

Step 2: Right-click on Taskbar and choose "Properties"; the "Taskbar Properties" window will be opened, go to the "Jump Lists" tab. Where two checkboxes are available uncheck "Store and display recently opened items in Jump Lists".

You can also find an option to Store recently opened programs where 10 number of items is the default to be displayed; you also can increase or decrease this option in this tab.
