Allow User to Change Theme in Windows 8

Introduction

Windows 8 provides us many attractive features like visual customization. Visual customization is one of the attractive features from the various types of awesome features. We can change the Theme since Windows 8 provides us the Prevent Changing Theme option. In this option we can Enable or Disable our Computer Theme in Windows 8. Windows 8 supports all Desktop applications in spite of its Metro UI.

So in this article we will learn how to enable the theme service with the help of the gpedit.msc command in Windows 8.

Steps to Change Theme in Windows 8

Step 1

First of all we have to move to the Start screen window of Windows 8. 

Step 2

Then move the cursor on the bottom-right of the window screen and click the search box which is helpful to search in Windows 8.

Step 3

Then in the search box type "gpedit.msc" and click on Apps from the right sidebar then click gpedit.msc in the main window.

Step 4

On performing this action, a new window will appear on your screen labeled with Local Group Policy Editor as shown in following image. 

Step 5

In User Configuration choose subcategory Administrative Template and click on the Control Panel and click on the "Prevent Changing Theme"

Step 6

Now right-click on the "Prevent Changing Theme" and select the Edit tab and click on it.

Step 7

In this step just click on the Disable or Not Configured Button to enable the user to change the theme in Windows 8 and click on the Apply or Ok Button.
