Enable User For Changing Desktop Background in Windows 8

Introduction

It is already known that Windows 8 marks a significant evolution of the user experience. Hence it allows the user to change various types of scenarios in Windows 8. In this article we will learn to the user to change the Desktop Background in Windows 8 if someone restricts the user from changing the Desktop Background in Windows 8.

It helps the user to change the background of the PC by clicking on the "Disable" Button in the "Prevent Changing Desktop Background" Window. For this purpose we have to type the "gpedit.msc" in the search box and click on it. To enable the user to change Desktop Background in Windows 8, just make sure that the radio button in the "Prevent Changing Desktop Background" window is checked for "Enable".

Steps to enable user to change Desktop Background in Windows 8

Step 1

To begin, all we have to do is to move onto the start window screen in Windows 8.

Then move the cursor on bottom-right of the window screen and click the search box which is helpful to search in Windows 8.

Then in the search box type "gpedit.msc" and click on Apps from the right sidebar then click gpedit.msc in the main window; see:

When you click on gpedit.msc in the main window then it will show the window with the nam "Local Group Policy Editor".

Then under user configuration just follow the path as given bellow:

User Configuration << Administrative Template << Control Panel << Personalization

In this step right-click on the "Prevent Changing Desktop Background" and select the edit tab and just click on the Edit option.

Then click on disable button to allow the user  for changing Desktop Background in Windows 8.

Then in the Personalized tab under the Control Panel you can see that the desktop background image is now changeable.

NOTE - Remember that if you click on the Enable Button in the "Prevent Changing Desktop Background" window then you cannot change the desktop background and if you click on the Disable Button then you can change the Desktop Background.
