How to Create System Image of Windows 8

Introduction

It is important to know that a system image can be restored or can replace a system image according to our needs. Therefore we can say a system image is nothing but an extra copy of system files or drives. Here "according our needs" means when any one of the following problems occur:

  • When the system crashes.
  • It's attacked with an un-removable virus.
  • When we encounter an un-resolvable errors.

So in this article we will learn how to create a system image file in Windows 8.

NOTE - Before starting just make sure to backup your system files regularly or you might loose the latest updates and installed programs and apps.

How to Create a System Image of Windows 8

Step 1

First of all we have to move on the Start screen window of Windows 8.

Step 2

Then move the cursor on bottom-right of the window screen and click the search box which is helpful for searching in Windows 8.

Step 3

Then in the search box type "backup your files" and click on the settings tab from the right sidebar then click backup your files in the main window.

Step 4

Now a new window will appear on your screen as shown in following image. In this new window click on Create a system image.

Step 5

On performing this action a new window will appear on your screen named with Create system image. This window searches for available backup devices.

Step 6

Now if you are creating an image for the first time then you will be led to the window which is similar to the one shown in the following image. In this window select where you prefer to save your image backup. Just select the drive and click on the next button.

Step 7

On clicking the next button a new window will open. This window shows which drive or files will be saved in the image. Then in this window just click on Start backup button.

Step 8

On clicking the Start backup button the image creation process will begin. This process might take a few minutes.

Step 9

Now If you want to create a system repair disk then click on the Yes button and proceed in the window which is dedicated to the start system repair disc as shown in the figure.

Step 10

Finally you will get a window which is similar to the one shown in the following image. This completes the image creation process. Then click on the Close button to complete the process.
