Disable Windows Store In Windows 8

In Windows 8 a new Store app is available that allows developers to publish their Metro style applications on Windows 8 devices. The store will only provide links to such applications on their websites.

But sometimes you want to disable the Windows 8 Store for some reason. Then you can do that (disable it) and then it could no longer to be used.

In this article we are going to learn how to disable the Windows Store in Windows 8. After disabling it, the Windows Store is not available on the PC.

Steps to be followed to disable Window 8 Store.

Step 1: Press Win+R key from the keyboard to enable the Run box.

Step 2: The Run box is opened. Type gpedit.msc and click the OK button.

Step 3: The Local Group Policy Editor is opened. Expand down the User Configuration.

Step 4: Then, expand Administrative Templates-> Select Windows Components:

Step 5: On right side pane, point to the Store option and double-click on it.

Step 6: On the right hand side you will see a setting that allows you to turn off the Windows Store, double-click on it.

Step 7: Select radio button from "Enabled", this setting, access to the Store application is denied. Then click Ok button to save this setting.

Step 8: The setting is effective immediately on your PC. Open the Store and you will see that the Windows Store is not avaiable on this PC.
