In previous versions of Windows, to set startup programs we just open Run > msconfig.exe and in the window find "Startup" tab or click on Start > All Programs > Startup (and list the programs here by dragging icons) but Windows 8 has been changed a bit.
If you go through the traditional method by typing msconfig, you will get the message to open the "Task Manager".
So, don't go long, just enter "Task Manager" and get it.
Now, you can find the "Startup" option in the Task Manager window.
Here you can disable any programs by right-clicking on it.
And if you want to add any program in the Startup, you need to open this Startup folder, find it here:
'C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs'
And right-click on the "Startup" folder and pin it to start.
And now you have the Startup folder available from the Metro Start screen.
Once you are in the "Startup" folder, right-click to create a shortcut program.
After doing that you will see the program in "Task Manager" Startup list too.
I hope you like it. Thanks.
