Introduction
The "Average Age" gadget shows a bar chart that displays the average age of unresolved issues at given points in time for a particular issue or a project, and specified units of time. Time can be in hours, days, weeks, months, quarters or years.
How to add the Pie Chart gadget to the user's Dashboard
Add the Pie Chart gadget to the user's Dashboard using the following procedure:
- Click on "Add Gadget" on the JIRA dashboard.
The "Gadget Directory" window will appear.
- Find the "Average Age" gadget and click on the "Add it Now" button just below the icon. Then click on the "Finished" button at the bottom of the Gadget Directory window. The Average Age gadget will appear on the user's dashboard.
- The Pie Chart gadget will appear on your dashboard as follows; configure the gadget by filling in the following details fields and click on Save Button.
Project or Saved Filter
Start typing the name of the project (for example saved) filter, or click the "Advanced Search" link to search for a project or filter.
Period
Select the length of the period from the drop down on which the chart will be based. The time can be in hours, days, weeks, months, quarters or years.
Days Previously
Enter the number of days to show in the graph. Count backwards from today while entering the number of days.
Refresh Interval
Select how often you would like this gadget to update the chart. You can choose never/every 15 minutes/every 30 minutes/every hour/every two hours.

If you use the Internet Explorer web browser, configure the IE cache settings to print pages with charts correctly:
- Click on Tools and select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- Click the "Settings" button in the Browsing History (in other words cache) section from Internet Options window.
- The "Temporary Internet Files and History Settings" window will display. Ensure that the "Every visit to the page" (in other words no caching) option is not selected. If it is then select the "Automatically" option instead.
