How to Change the Name of Computer in Windows Server 2012

Introduction

In today's article you will learn how to change your computer's name in Windows Server 2012.

Step 1

First of all login to your Windows Server 2012 as an Administrator. Now go to the right side of your Desktop and move your mouse either from the top to the bottom or from the bottom to the top so that you can see the Search, Start and Settings options (Charm's Bar).

Here click on the "Start" Button.

Step 2

Now you will see various Tiles or Applications to get selected.

From here right-click on the Computer, this will tick the Computer and will show a few options in the bottom of the screen from where you must select the Property Button.

Step 3

The Property button will allow you to View Basic Information about your computer.

On the left hand side you will see an option for "Advanced System Settings". Click on this option for the further procedures.

Step 4

Now System Properties will be opened and here click on the Computer Name. In the Computer Name there will be an option "Change". Click on the Change Button.

Step 5

Now write the new Name for your Computer and click on the "OK" Button.

Now your computer name will be changed. You can check it by clicking on the Start Button and going to the properties of the computer like we did previously.
