Introduction
In my previous article Enable DCOM to Let Your System's Component Services Communicate With Others I explained how to enable the Component Services of your System to communicate with a COM Component of another system in the same network by enabling DCOM.
In this article I will explain how to disable DCOM.
It is possible that you do not need to communicate with any COM component of another system. For that you must disable the DCOM. For disabling DCOM you must use the following procedure.
Step 1
First of all go to the "Start Menu". In the Start Menu you will find an option named as "Component Services" that will be under the Administrative Tools.
Step 2
In the Component Services you will find an option named "Computer", you need to open this option.
Step 3
Now "My Computer" will be available in front of you, here right-click on it to open it's properties.
Step 4
Now the "My Property Window" will be opened, here in the tabs you will see an option named as "Default Properties". Open this Tab.
Step 5
On this page you will see that all the options are previously checked since you had previously provided the permission for enabling DCOM.
Step 6
You need to uncheck all these options to disable DCOM.
After that click on the "Apply" button and then "Ok".
