How to Get Started With LightSwitch Starter Kits in Visual Studio 2012

Introduction

In today's article you will learn how to get started with LightSwitch Starter Kits in Visual Studio 2012.

Step 1

First of all open your Visual Studio 2012. Now click on "File" -> "New" -> "Project...".

In the New Project window you must click on "Online". In the online you will see the option "Template"; click on it to open the list of templates. Now in the Templates go to the Others to find the LightSwitch option.

Step 2

Now in the LightSwitch option you will see the option "Sort By", click on the Drop Down List and select the "Most Recent" option.

As you select the option you will see some options to be selected.

Step 3

Now you can either select the first option or the second option.

1. The first option includes the TimeTracker Starter Kit using VB
2. the second option includes the TimeTracker Starter Kit using C#

You can select any of these.

Step 4

After selecting any of them, click on the "OK" button. It will then download.

Now an Installation option will be available. Click on the "Install" button to install the LightSwitch Starter Kit.

Step 5

After Installation has completed you will see a number of pages and databases.

You can Run these pages and can also do modifications, then provide a New Entry in the Running Page. Click on the "Save" icon and it will be saved.

Step 6

You can select any table from the Database and can open it as well as can do modifications if needed.
