Introduction
This article explains how to raise the Forest and Domain Functional Level using Active Directory Administrative Center.
Through ADDC you can raise the Forest and Domain Functional Level so if you are working on a Lower Level of Domain or Forest then it can be raised through AD DC.
Step 1
First of all open the Administrative Tools form the Start Menu.
In the Administrative Tools a list of installed items will be available, here an option will be available named Active Directory Administrative Center, double-click on it to open it.
Step 2
Now the Active Directory Administrative Center Wizard will open, this will look like the Server Manager.
Now first we will raise the Forest Functional Level and after that we will go for the Domain Functional Level.
So, right-click on the domain in which you want to raise the Forest or Domain Functional Level and choose the "Raise the forest Functional Level".
Step 3
Now a new Wizard will open from where you can choose the Forest type of which you want to raise but since I am already using the Windows Server 2012 my Forest Functional Level is already at it's highest level.
To raise the Domain Functional Level, again right-click on the domain and choose the "Raise the Domain Functional Level".
Now again a Wizard will open from where you can choose the domain type of which you want to raise but again I have the highest level, in other words Windows Server 2012.
