How to Set Up SharePoint 2013 on Windows Azure: Step 4

In the previosu articles we saw how to create and configure network components, domain controllers and SQL Server 2012. In this final article we will see how to install and configure the much awaited SharePoint Server 2013.

Create SharePoint Server 2013 VM

Create SharePoint Server 2013 VM --> SharePoint Server 2013 Trial. Choose large size initially, specify the subnet, affinity group and the storage account correctly.





Click OK and let the VM be provisioned for you. Once the VM is provisioned, connect to that VM using RDP and click on the SharePoint 2013 Products Configuration wizard.

• Choose to create a new Server Farm the first time
• Mention the database server that you have already created. In case you get errors here, check the firewall rules.
  
  
  
  
• Once past that step, just click Next and Next and wait for about 10 minutes and let the wizard do its work.
  
  
  
  
• Finally you will see the following completion message.
  
  
  

Now you are ready with your basic infrastructure of SharePoint Server 2013 on Windows Azure. Use the User Central Administrator website to start configuring your service applications, web applications and site collections.

In case you need to plan for a separate application web server, follow the same steps as for creating the SharePoint Server 2013 Trial VM and add it to the AppSubnet.
