I like how Windows 10 displays the battery status on the task bar as one of the icons.
Not only can you see the status from the task bar but can also manage the modes. You will also see if you have multiple batteries and their statuses.

By using the Battery Saver and Brightness buttons, you can update them right from here. Click on the Battery Saver button to switch to the normal mode. The Brightness button click will also have options to change brightness to 16%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
Very innovative. I really like it.
