Windows
8 starts several apps every time you restart it. Some of these apps may take a
while and you will have to wait until these processes kick in. As a matter of
fact, some of these apps you may not even care for. For example, on my Windows
8 laptop, Microsoft Lync starts automatically which I never really use. So you
can disable these apps.
In
this article, you will see how we can disable startup apps.
Open
Task Manager by going to WIN+Q and type Task Manager in the app search text
box. Alternatively, you can hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager from the
list.
Once the Task Manager is launched, you can view and manage Startup apps on the Startup tab. On the main screen, you can see the current running apps, process, and background processes. You will also see how much CPU, memory and disk space these apps and processes are consuming at the moment,
On the Startup tab, you will see a list of apps that are set to run at the startup.
You also see the Status and the startup impact,
To enable or disable all app, right click and select Enable or Disable, depending on the current status of the app.
