What is Azure Data Lake Store?
Azure Data Lake Store is a hyper-scale repository that works for Big-Data Analytic Loads and yes, this will fall under the Open Source category where Microsoft supports Big-Data tools like Hadoop. This Azure Data Lake Store plays a major role with security, manageability, scalability, reliability, and availability. This is completely built for Hadoop supported with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and works with the Hadoop ecosystem. It can save all forms of Data and can play a major role in security with Authentication, Access Control, and Encryption.
Requirements
- Microsoft Azure account. – Click here to get a temporary account.
Follow the below steps for Creating an Azure Data Lake Store account.
Log into your Microsoft Azure Account.
You should get a screen which is the home page of Azure, as shown below.
Click on New - Storage - Data Lake Store.
Fill in the details for the Data Lake Store blade, as shown below.
- Name.
- Subscription.
- Resource Group – create a new one.
- Location.
- Pricing.
- Encryption Settings.
Click on "Create" now.
Here goes your deployment for the new Azure Data Lake Store.
Your Azure Data Lake Store account gets opened automatically once the deployment is complete.
Create a new folder towards the Azure Data Lake Store account.
Click on “Data Explorer” in Azure Data Lake Store account which was created to add a new folder.
You will get a window, as shown below.
Click on "New Folder" option in the Azure Data Lake Store Blade. In my case, it is “ferodls”
Enter a name for the new folder that you want to be created.
Let's name it as “mynewfolder” and click on OK.
Here goes your new folder named “mynewfolder”
In Data Explore Blade, you can find the folder which has been created.
Uploading Data in Azure Data Lake Store
Click on the Upload button in the Azure Data Lake Store panel.
You will be get an upload panel, as shown below.
Click on the Upload button and upload the file which you need. Once the file is selected, click on “Add Selected Files”.
Your file is getting uploaded in the Azure Data Lake Store.
And here we are. We have created a folder and uploaded an image for the Azure Data Lake Store.
