As a developer, I've always believed that a personal portfolio is more than just a showcase — it's a reflection of how you think, solve problems, and present your work. Recently, I built my portfolio website and added an exciting twist by integrating it with Make.com, making it interactive, trackable, and automated. Why Build a Portfolio?
In the technology world, your portfolio often speaks before you do. While resumes tell what you've done, portfolios show what you can create . Building my portfolio gave me the opportunity to:
- Create a central hub for all my work and projects
- Experiment with front-end design and coding practices
- Showcase both technical and creative skills
- Explore how automation tools can enhance a traditional project
I decided to host the portfolio on GitHub Pages , which provided a free, reliable, and easy-to-access platform.

Features of My Portfolio
My portfolio includes:
- About Me Section – Introduces my skills, interests, and background
- Projects Showcase – Displays my recent work with links and descriptions
- Contact/Feedback Form – Allows visitors to provide feedback or get in touch
- Resume Download Button – Tracks downloads, capturing the username and site

Make.com Integration
The integration with Make.com makes the portfolio smart and automated. Here's what it does:
- Feedback Form Automation – Every submission is automatically sent to Make.com
- Resume Download Tracking – Captures the username and site whenever someone downloads my resume
- Automated Workflows – Responses and downloads are stored in Google Sheets or trigger notifications, without needing a backend
This combination transforms the portfolio from a static site into an interactive, data-driven project.

Key Learnings
This project taught me several important lessons:
- Simplicity matters – Automation can replace complex backend setups
- Automation is powerful – Collecting feedback and tracking downloads in real-time improves workflow and professionalism
- Blending skills is the future – Combining coding with no-code tools creates smarter, more efficient projects
