This configuration will help you to configure the Content Deployment process which is used to deploy content from one site collection to another; and the source and destination can be the same or different farms.
How to configure
Let’s open Central Admin of SharePoint on your machine. On your Windows desktop screen, click Start >> Administrative Tools >> SharePoint 2013 Central Administration.
- Run it as an Administrator to have elevated privileges.
- You will see the screenshot given below.
- Central Admin is configured under the categories given above.
- Click on "General Application Settings".
- Go to "Content Deployment".
- Click on “Configure Content deployment“.
- You will see the screen below.
Configuration
Accept Content Deployment Jobs
Using this configuration you can accept or reject incoming coming deployment jobs from other farms.
Import Server
Here, you can specify the import server from where you will receive the content deployment jobs.
Export Server
Here, you can specify the export server where you will send the content deployment jobs.
Connection Security
As part of the security, you can configure if you want to send the content encrypted or not.
Source Status Check
This is enabled by default where it checks the source to validate an error on the deployment.
Temporary Files
Here, you can store the temporary file location which the deployment process will use and delete them after the job is completed.
Reporting
Here, you can provide the number as to how many reports can be generated during the content deployment jobs execution.
Once this configuration is done, the content deployment will be applied to the destination web with all security information and assist in deploying content from one source to another in the same or different farm.
