Microsoft Flow

Microsoft Flow is a cloud-based service. It allows reacting to an event in one Service (such as SharePoint online) and do something with the data from that event into another Service (such as Twitter). It makes it practical and simple for line-of-business. The users are needed to build workflows that automatically do business tasks and processes across applications and services.

It’s designed to connect different online services to pass data between them, or do work on that data.

Who can use Microsoft Flow

Microsoft Flow can be used by any person who needs the automated workflows. It can be widely used in all sectors like Educational Places, Government Sectors, Corporations, Organisations, Enterprises etc..

It is very simple to create and use. It doesn't require deep technical knowledge or programming skills. So, everyone can very easily create the Flow. It’s the Line-of-business in the enterprise organizations.

  1. The most common use of Flow is to trigger notifications. When your boss sends an important mail and it creates the automated workflow that can send the immediate notification to you.
  2. Flow can also be used to copy files. For example, when a new file is added to OneDrive or Dropbox, an automated workflow can instantly post a copy of the file to SharePoint also.
  3. Flows can also be used to collect data. For instance, if you want to see what people are saying about a your brand, you can create a trigger that will capture new tweets that mention the brand and put a copy of each tweet in a SQL database for sentiment mining
  4. You can share the flows to add co-workers or groups in your organization as owners on your flows, so they can also edit and manage the flow and gave permission to run manually, and also grant other people or groups in your organization permission to just run the flow.

How to build Microsoft Flow

You can start building the Microsoft Flo without writing a single line of code.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft Account – Corporate ID.

Follow the below steps to build a Flow using template.

Login to www.flow.microsoft.com

In the Home page, you have Sign in and Sin up Free options are available. If you have Corporate ID, you just sign in with that, otherwise you choose sign up free with Microsoft ID.

 

If you choose Sign up Free, its looks like this,

After sign in, you are recommended to choose your country and click Get started.
