How To Change The Size Of Desktop Icons And Taskbar Icons In Windows 10

Introduction

In Microsoft Windows 10, it has been made very easy to change the size of desktop as well as taskbar icons. Desktop icons are used for quickly opening the software/application. When you double click on the desktop icon, it opens the application immediately without you spending time in searching the application. In touch screen laptops it only uses the desktop icon.

Similarly, task bar icons are also used for easyily starting the applications that are used frequently, as well as which are needed in the middle of other applications. These icons do not take a lot of space but are just the shortcuts. However, you can change the size of these icons whenever you want.

Changing the size of desktop icons

For this, follow these steps.

Step 1 – First, right click on the desktop and select the view options.

Step 2 - There, you see the icon size settings. You can select the size according to your preference, as shown in the image below. 

 

Example - In the below image, we have medium icons. 



Resize the taskbar Icons

For  resizing the taskbar icons, follow these steps.

Step 1 –  Click on Windows button and select the "Settings" from the left menu.

 

 

 

Step 2 – You will reach the Windows Settings page, as shown in the following image. Select "System" over here.



Step 3 – In the "System Setting" page, select "Display" from the left pane.



Step 4 – On the right side pane, you see the one line option “Change the size of text, apps, and other items: 100% (Recommended)“. Just drag the bar to increase the size of your taskbar icons.



Now, your toolbar icon size is changed. It can vary to the four sizes - 100, 125, 150, and 175.
