Here, you can have your Farm back up for various purposes, for example, to save a copy or to restore it to another Server. Once the backup is taken, you can use this process to restore the backup on the central administration.
How to perform?
Let’s open Central Admin of SharePoint on your machine. On your Windows desktop screen, click Start >> Administrative Tools >> SharePoint 2013 Central Administration.
- Run it as an administrator to have the elevated privileges.
- You will see the screenshot given below.
- Central Admin is configured under the categories given above.
- Click Backup and Restore.
- Go to "Backup and Restore".
- Click Restore from a backup.
- You will see the screen below. Click on it.
Configure
You can either restore the whole Farm or you can choose some components or solutions within your farm.
- Backup Directory Location
Provide a path to restore the backup. Once you provide the path, click on Refresh and you will be able to see.
Once the configuration is done, click on Start Restore.
The restore will take place and the component will be added to the Farm on Central Administration.
