SharePoint 2016 - March 2017 CU Issue Fixed

What’s Included

This CU includes all the previous CUs since SharePoint 2016 RTM. This CU also includes the Feature Pack 1.

The following features are part of Feature Pack 1.

• Hybrid Taxonomy (preview)
• OneDrive API for SharePoint on-premises
• OneDrive for Business modern experience (available to Software Assurance customers)

Improvements and fixes

This CU brings a lot of SharePoint & Project Server fixes, here is the list of fixes published by MSFT.

Project Server 2016

1. Some database views in the reporting schema such as the pjrep.MSP_EpmProject_UserView are missing and they can't be recreated.
2. Spelling check does not provide suggestions or correct misspelled words in a calendar app.
3. You can't add dimensions or measures to an OLAP cube definition if there is more than one PWA instance defined in a given web app.
4. OLAP cube builds times don't follow the requested pattern. For example, if you set a cube to be built hourly, there are some hours where the cube isn't built.
5. If you apply a filter that uses the Does not Contain filter test to a project that you are editing in Project Web App, tasks that have the filtered characters are still displayed.
6. Administrative tasks should not be auto-approved if the timesheet owner has the Adjust Timesheet permission.
7. On the OLAP Database Management page, you can't set a new default OLAP database, or enable or disable existing databases if you have more than one PWA instance on the server.

SharePoint Server 2016

Fixes

1. Previously, files are copied side-by-side if the EnableSideBySide setting is true. Now, files are copied side-by-side regardless of the EnableSideBySide setting.
2. An issue that occurs when you pipe Set-SPContentDatabase with Get-SPContentDatabase.
3. Adds more logs to diagnose the issue in which a farm server turns to the Upgrade Required status after a successful run of psconfig with the No Action Required server status.
4. It's difficult for a screen reader to understand the structure between sections on a discussion board. This is because there is only one heading. This update adds h2 and h3 labels to the discussion board for better screen reading.

Language-Dependent Fix

1. Adds translations for several group membership strings in multiple languages.
2. Adds error messages for the exceptions of taxonomy replication and migration.
3. Updates the translations to make sure that the meaning of the word "Drivers" is correct in Project Server.

Installation

As we know, this Month MSFT Release 2 CUs (one Include the LPs related fix and Other Non LP related fixes).

• No matter what, whether you have installed any languages packs in your farm or no language pack. You must install both packages followed by PSconfig wizard on all server in the farm one by one.
• So please install sts2016-kb3178672-fullfile-x64-glb.exe and wssloc2016-kb3178675-fullfile-x64-glb.exe

Prerequisite

• To apply this update, you must have Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016 installed.

Restart information

• If during the Installation of the Updates Certain Component of the SharePoint is running then it will ask you for the Restart the server. So its depend upon your server.

Schema Change

• This update updates the database schema so that the mean schema and Patch Version will change. You will see the same Patch number and Build Number.

Known Issue with CU

This CU also fixes the longer time issue with Installation of packages.
