When I think of a Tablet, I think of iPad. I think of a
device that is little larger than the mobile phone and smaller than a laptop.
What would you say if I tell you that Microsoft is building
80-inch Windows 8 tablets? I would say it's not a Tablet. It's a TV. In a
report published on wired
that Steve Ballmer has an 80-inch Windows 8 Tablet that does everything for
him. It is a Windows Phone looking interface large touch-screen that can make
phone calls and also browse the Web and other things that any other tablet can
do. Microsoft plans to release Windows 8 sometime
this year. Windows 8 consumer
preview was announced in Feb earlier this year. Microsoft's new operating
system, Windows 8
will be running Metro
Style apps.
When I was at the MVP Summit few years back, Microsoft had
surface enabled touch coffee tables at the hotel that will allow you to browse
the Internet. I can imagine this new Windows 8 Tablet is similar to this.
It's looks like it's not far when house walls will be large
touch screens and can be used to project movies, browse Internet, make phone
calls and live video chats.
