Clip Utility in Windows Vista

Let's see the nice command line utility called clip.exe provided with Microsoft Windows Vista.

Clip utility allows to redirect the output generated to the clipboard. Let's see a simple example:

Dir | clip

This command will copy the directory listing to the clipboard. See the figure below:

The above figure shows the directory listing and the above command being executed.

Now when I open the notepad and paste the contents, you will get this:

You can also copy the entire content of the document to clipboard with "clip < filename".
