Active directory mechine password after re-image
Hi All,
I hope I will find the answer to my question here.
My office Laptop is part of corporate active directory setup. So in office, we login to active directory & when working from home, we login with the same login ID & password - no issues, all good.
Now I have made a disk image of a good working setup so that in case of any issues, I can go back to that so that I can manage it myself without going through our IT support staff (which is bit messy).
The problem that I faced was that when I tried to use that good image after about 3 months, all worked except login to Active directory. By googling, I found the reason as "machine account password" being expired in that old image. I think this machine account password changes every 30 days. Also I understood that if that image is more than 60 days old, we face this login failed to AD issue.
Now I am looking for a ways to work around without the Active domain administrator password (which I do not have).
1. Is there a way to reset this password without the domain administrator password?
2. Is there a way to take a backup of this settings - "machine account password" ( from a file copy/registry export) so that I can backup from last working copy & restore that to new image?
My goal to use/get the old image to login to Active Directory without re-joining active directory which require domain administrator password.
Please note that I am an end-user.
