Applying Array Function

Question

Hi everyone I have studied about quite a few types of arrays when I am in my college . However I don't really understand how Array Functions can be applied or when they should be used :( Can someone enlighten me on this or give me an example of an situation which array function will come into good use? :D

Well in .NET all arrays derive from the System.Array class. This class has a number of properties and methods but here's an example which makes use of some of the commoner ones: using System; class Program { static void Main() { int[] arr = {1 2 7 9 5 4}; // check if array contains the value 5 int pos = Array.IndexOf(arr 5); if (pos > -1) { Console.WriteLine(The array contains the value 5 at index  + pos); } // sort the elements of the array Array.Sort(arr); Console.WriteLine(The elements of the array in order are ); foreach(int i in arr) Console.Write({0}  i); Console.WriteLine(); // resize the array to permit an additional element Array.Resize(ref arr arr.Length + 1); Console.WriteLine(The size of the array is now  + arr.Length); arr[arr.Length - 1] = 0; Array.Sort(arr); Console.WriteLine(The elements of the array in order are now ); foreach(int i in arr) Console.Write({0}  i); Console.ReadKey(); } } The output is: The array contains the value 5 at index 4 The elements of the array in order are 1 2 4 5 7 9 The size of the array is now 7 The elements of the array in order are now 0 1 2 4 5 7 9
