background worker in a web application

Question

I need to search for some specific files on my computer using a background worker from a c sharp web application. would it be possible? how could i do this? please provide me some code examples.

I think that the BackgroundWorker class is for forms. What do you mean by web application? Do you mean an ASP application? If so then it would be better to have put this question in the ASP forum. I am not as familiar with ASP as many others here. I did a quick search and I think there are not easy answers. When you look for articles in this web site also look for articles about threads and articles about asynchronous. You might also clarify here what you need to do in case someone here can help you do what you need to do. Why do you need to use a thread?
