can i separate .edmx file and .designer.cs files

Question

hi  i have one requirement i created the edmx file form the existing database it automatically create .designer.cs file  but i don't want to use that designer.cs file i want to map my own .designer.cs file which is getting from another assembly to the current .edmx file is it possible  if possible can you give me any suggestions Thanks & Regards M.Koteswara Rao

hi you can achive this using T4 template. In Visual Studio a T4 text template is a mixture of text blocks and control logic that can generate a text file. The control logic is written as fragments of program code in Visual C# or Visual Basic. The generated file can be text of any kind such as a Web page or a resource file or program source code in any language.
