connect windows phone 8.1 to azure

Question

Hello I am developing a windows phone 8.1 app i want to create a database online how exactly should i connect it online? I was told to use azure which i already have an account using dreamSpark  If i may get a guide line to figure out how to implement it. Thank you in advance
