Connecting to a DATABASE in visual studio 2010

Question

Such a problem. Created in sql server 2008 managment database. But I want to connect to it in visual studio 2010. Click connect to server, but the server name box is empty. Through sql server 2008, all properly connected. I cant undestand why? Help me please

Yes you need to enter the server name/computer manually with user credentials for access. Or go to Server Explorer (Crtl+Alt+S) and Add New Connection. Also refer article: Find Database Connection and Generate Connection String using Visual Studio

If you are not able to find server name on dropdown you need to type server name. On Server Explorer click on Add Connection. Provide servername/IP select authentication type (if it is SQL Server Authentication provide username and password). If you already have database select database. And click on Ok.
